Highschool Dictionary

 

  • ”Bogruppe” (dormitory group): the place you live in: Orion, Pegasus, Cassiopeia, Phøniks,  Nord (North), Øst (East) og Vest (West). The “bogruppe” or dormitory group is your “family”.
  • Dormitory teacher: Each dormitory has two teachers, and they help with the weekly dormitory meeting every Wednesday at 8.15.
  • Joint lesson: takes place after the dormitory meetings Wednesday, typically held in the lecture hall. Lesson for all students at the same time.
  • Main subject:  Your choice of subject of which there are 8: Fashion & Design, Music, Art, Media, Danish as second language, Photography, Writers class, Volunteer. Classes are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
  • Optional subjects: You can have up till four different optional subjects during Tuesdays and Thursdays. The different subject matters will be announced shortly after semester start. 
  • Friday Café: takes place in the living room after cleaning and tidying up on the main subjects. From approx. 14.30, we drink some coffee and tea, and have a cosy time together.
  • Kitchen duty: Students help out in the kitchen before and after the meals. Morning, lunch, and dinner. The kitchen duties are done by the dormitory groups in succession.
  • Morning assembly: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, there is an joint assembling for ALL, at 8.15. Typically held in the lecture hall.
  • Joint dinner: Every other Wednesday there is a joint dinner at the highschool: here guests from the town and outer area are invited.
  • Main subject week: a week devoted 100% to your main subject. All lessons takes place there.
  • Theme week: a week with a common theme for the whole school.
  • Family Friends Day: a Saturday at the end of the semester, where your family and your friends are invited here, for exhibitions, concert and dining.
  • Open House arrangement: a two day event for future students, so they can get a taste of highschool life.
